Driving Lessons

Driving Instructors

Why would I use an ADI (approved driving instructor)?

9 out of 10 learners who passed the practical test on their first attempt were taught by an ADI. If you're planning to learn, then you should appoint an ADI. It's highly unlikely that anyone except an ADI will have the right experience, knowledge and training to teach you to drive properly.

What should I look for?

A qualified ADI should display a green badge on their car. Trainee driving instructors must display a pink badge on the windscreen.
If the instructor is not displaying either a green or pink badge on their windscreen, please ask them to show it to you. If they refuse or are unable to produce a valid badge, you should report this to DSA.

How will I find an approved driving instructor (ADI)?

To find and choose a recommended ADI driving instructor simply type your details into the search box on the top left hand side of the homepage.
